| My son is in first grade, and I cant begin to imagine how devastated I would be in that situation.
My heart goes out to all those families.
There is nothing words can do to quell the pain and emotion that community is going through.

| I hate where this day will end, a political hot topic. That is disgusting... I can't imagine being related to this event, I really hope no one forgets about today and the poor kids that never got a chance to live. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved and I hope their serious tragedy is not abused by the media. I'm not a parent, but I could only imagine the pain... | |

| I heard this on the way home and my jaw dropped. I'm literally still in shock. I don't have children, but I KNOW that anyone who does, is affected more than I am by a hundredfold. Things like this have happened before, but these were just KIDS. Remember what you were doing in school back when you were their age?
I'm glad that over on FB most people have taken the high road and not exploited this terrible incident to blow it up into a political hot topic, a few have, but they're the same few clowns who always do. The families of victims don't need to hear this shit right now.
My prayers are with those people.

My prayers are with those people. Don't worry. mayor Bloomberg has. And MSNBC was positively frothing at the mouth this afternoon with a gun control argument. I've gone ahead and logged off Facebook and shut all the news apps off on my phone. People have gone off the deep end.

| Today, Diane and myself went down to UNH to move my youngest daughter. She is finished college and after the first of the year, she has a job as an engineer. It was a very happy day for all of us, a lot of hard work, sacrifice and rewards.
On the way home, I turned on the radio and hear about the shooting of these young children. We are in shock and disbelief. Happy days like we had today, have been taken away from these 26 families. Our thoughts and prayers for the families.

| I don't even have words to express my sadness for those people. And those poor kids. They're only KIDS for God's sake. Horrible.
This big tough guy hasn't cried for a long time. But this is just horrible.
My heart goes out to all affected.
Kiss your kids extra tonight. Bella got the hug of her life when I got home. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | While my heart just bleeds for the 20 pairs of parents who have to do the unatural act of burying their children. I am also so sad over the children who survived yet witnessed the act, or passed by the victims on their way out of the building. They have a long road ahead of them. I was at the dentist today when I saw what had happened on their tv. When I saw the president wiping away his tears, I found myself doing the same.
I hope there is a immediate lock down for all schools. No unlocked doors (not even the main door), no people in or out without school business. And at least one armed guard at every school. We have to protect our children any way we can. _________________ 1980 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. 6.0 87k 2017 Chevrolet Silverado LT 4.3 Aluminum V6 (My daily) 2008 Saab 9.3 convertible (Wife's Daily)

| It's absolutely terrible. Never in my life would I have imagined something like this happening at an elementary school! I don't have kids, but am still deeply disturbed by all this, especially being this is only a couple towns over from where I live. | |

| Having grown up visiting my grandparents in Southbury through the late 70's, 80's and 90's.... the next town over...My grand dad was the president of Naugatuck Savings for almost 20 yrs. Both towns are on either side of Newtown, gave me a appreciation for the unreal violence that occured yesterday as I knew exactly where it happened and could not believe what I had heard. My wife called me and my stomach turned to a deep pit of unease for the first time in my 40 yrs. I have seen a lot, we all have. But this was just more than evil on so many levels. The first thought I had was for those kids, those parents, those siblings, the first responders.. the husbands and wives... That community is just like the ones we all live in..
My 22 month old was running around the house last nite, smiling, squeaking, screaming, playing. Think of those families that wont have that going forward to watch their kids grow up. Its more than sad, as all that can be said.. is it was a cowardly act by a lost soul and it makes you wonder where the conscience of values has gone in this society.
I agree with the view that politicizing this matter wont do it justice, wont solve the problem. Maybe every school will have to be on lockdown everysingle day now in every single community with a renewed vigillance on watching out for these psycho's.
I would be happy to pay for a cop/armed guard to be stationed at every school in my community today. Raise my taxex, my kid's life, my neighbor's kids life and my fellow American's kids lives are worth the expence going forward. Figure it would cost an average of $400k in most communities to hire and staff schools with a police officer.Raise my taxes, I will pay for it. Hell it would be a great gig for returning vets that are screened and trained and need work.
Some sick son of a bitch will think twice knowing that a trained professional is stationed at schools.

| This is a beautiful tribute done by The Voice to the horrible tragedy in Newtown. God bless all those affected.
