| An epic journey of how a C-body was saved by a D-body Here's what I'm starting with. The whole story of the purchase is on the Dolly Parton thread. But it basically breaks down to me searching for one car and finding this gem by accident. Worked a deal with the 94 dggm caddy and a small amount of cash. And now she's all mine! Serious work ahead!!! You can see here I had to cut the door handle off the get into it. All doors are frozen shut! Floors are GONE! Seats were good when parked..... This is all animal damage Door panels are just complete DUST! touch them and they disintergrate Original 331 Cadillac engine, with a power option it actually has MORE power than an lt1. And all these old engines are way under rated on power anyway. Gonna rebuild and run it if possible.

| That should keep you busy for a while! Looks like it came with a critter living in the backseat.

| Yeah, I'm guessing that's either your dog or a very large "money cat", LOL. Did he/she walk through the convenient access through the floor? I wonder if it had floors when it was deposited on the dude's lawn or whereever it sat...wonder how long that was for as well! This should be an interesting thread to watch... | |

| It was my parents cat, yeah crawled in through the floor. From what I understand the car was a daily driver and he drove it onto the lawn and just parked it. I'd guess in the 70's because why would you have a caddy only a few years and ruin it? And it's rougher looking than anything i've seen parked in the 80's. | |

| Spent the storm inside the garage in a tyvek suit and resperator. Cleaned out 4 garbage bags full of "stuff" from just the front seat. I cut a hole in the passenger door to gain access to the lock assembly, but it was no help. Used a lead hammer and a long screwdriver and pounded the catch inbetween the b pillar. First time the passenger door ad been open in 30+ years! I got all new lock assemblies/actuators coming from a guy in Memphis. Cleaned down the doors and removed all the rotted door panel While working on the doors I noticed something wedged under the seat springs under all the decroded foam Check this out! (Matt Trakker will appreciate!) No nutritional facts, no deposit info printed, metal cap on the top | |
