It's a rental. The Grand Marquis was struck by lightning . - 8bud wrote:

If my @$$#0L3 neighbor can do it, so can I. And at least I left it running . | |

| My wife was pulling away from the curb, then there was a bang and the car stalled and wouldn't restart. A bunch of people came running out of the house next to where she was parked and said there was a dead squirrel on the roof of the car. It appears that lightning struck a street tree, arced to the car and the house, which had a scorch up the front, and offed the squirrel. Fortunately all humans are fine. Aside from the squirrel, the alternator, PCM, and who knows what else are not. | |

| Lightning is some crazy stuff. Back when i was a teen, me, my sister and my friend were walking down my street when all of the sudden all our hair stood up on end and we got tingling sensations all over. At first it was hilarious as we all had long hair, but then we realized something was up. All of the sudden there was a crazy loud CRACK BANG! as the telephone pole 50 feet away from us got struck by lightning.
Needless to say, but we were quite shocked by what had just happened, lol

| Progressive has thrown $2500 at the problem so far and they're still authorizing more diagnostics. Meanwhile, the V-dub has to go back to Enterprise in six days. On the bright side, they returned a phone call for the second time in three and a half weeks. | |

| That's why I deal personally with a local insurance agency that I buy insurance through...for sure I'm not all that experienced but I've been helped every time whenever something went down, and they know me by name. Even though I do not have collision, when some idiot 17 year old on a bike was lane splitting and t-boned my Blazer, they went out of their way to make sure I did not get blamed for something I was not responsible for when the kid cried foul (he was on an m-cycle and wasn't covered for injuries I guess? Never had a bike) My friend switched to Progressive for his Super Duty he had a few years ago because they quoted him a lot less than what he was paying. I was with him when he filed some paperwork for the switch and I remember the "office" being very impersonal and socialist/communist-like with very little in the way of customer service instead of a dark, bleak waiting room with a little window on one wall that had a metal vent in the middle of it for them to speak through. As soon as a year or so passed they went up on his premiums by a ridiculous amount! He then dumped them and went back to his old company I think. | |
