| Hey guys... I am trying to track down some parts to get the car completed in time. None of this stuff is going to make or brake the ordeal, but if I get it in time, I sure would be happy LOL. -Early 80's Tail Lights (the 3 piece looking ones). Mine are covered in the VHT crap, looking for good clean stockers. I also need the reverse and corner marker lens. -Plastic inner fenders. I believe they came in buick, olds, pontiac b-body cars. -MINT set of front and rear bumpers without the rubber impact strips -Set of Manual Doors (or just the regulator assemblies) ___________________________________________________________________ I will update as I think of more or less....or acquire parts

| If you have a hell of a time with taillights, etc, I've heard that the VHT stuff is chemically removable from the lenses with brake clean, paint thinner, mineral spirits, or something of that nature, however I've never tried it. If it clouds the plastic or anything, you can always sand them up to 2000 grit then polish them out. PITA but in a worst case Ontario you can keep it in mind... | |

| There's a not very picked over 86 caprice at a yard in Norton. I may have sent 1984twodoor some pics a while ago. As well as posted it in the junk yard finds thread. There's a couple at the linders yard in blackstone as well. There's even a white wagon. | |

The front bumper looks like the earlier style like for the 77-79 cars. But DAMN they must shine when you peel that protective coating back! That rear looks the same as the ones I've had.

Thanks for the link. Believe it or not, I called that guy 2 years ago! Those things have been on and off CL forever...but unfortunatley I am looking for the bumpers without the molding holes.

| I could be wrong, but I figured they all had holes, and if your car came without the trim, there were bumper bolts in them? But some of those bumpers look like they have a million slots on them, so I dunno....
The 70s bumpers had the bolts...

The 70s bumpers had the bolts... The "Caprice" came with the bumper bolts and the "Caprice Classic" came with the slots and therefore the rubber strips IIRC

Bur my whole car was weird. It was a classic, with 6cyl, but had power windows, locks, drivers portion of the seat, and optinal clock on the dash. It also had the windshield mounted antenna, but it didn't have the rubber bumper guards, or a rear defroster. I think my car was special order.

Normally people who bought a V6 got just an Impala, at least until 85. I've only seen a handful of V6 caprices in my life. But your car has all of the nice creature comforts. Maybe someone wanted that and didn't want any glittzy stuff? Who knows lol. Also, I've only seen a few classics with your bolted bumpers too! One of them was on CL a while back. Very interesting cars!

LOL...i might run down to the yard tomorrow. If you want, PM me your number and if I go I will send you a few pics of the wheel and what you think is fair to pay in case they try and curve ball me lol...but they seem fair. I scored two complete inner trunk liner carpet sets (figure I will make on out of the two using the cleanest pieces) for 10 bucks....with the trunk weather seal LOL

| Is this the style bumper you're looking for? It's in a yard up the road from me with a whole bunch of older B bodies with a slew of good parts. Art Dells - http://www.world-parts.com/detail.asp?id=113283&StateId=&SeqNo= I could go take a closer look if you're interested. Randy | |

Thanks Randy, Renssealer is about an hour and a half away, not to shabby. If the guy has enough of those things, might be worth me taking a cruise out your way one weekend.
