Someone posted a link to RedBubble with the Walley World stickers on the Station Wagon forum. I was so impressed, I decided to publish some of my own work. I scanned in a photo I had of the old Rusty Jones sticker and started digitally repairing it:
Remembering Rusty Jones IMG_2512

Remember the Man with the Mustache who promised to keep your car free of rust and corrosion? Remember seeing his face on nearly every rusted out Japanese car in America in the 80s? There’s a reason they went out of business…
Most people just wanted the sticker with that dapper example of manhood gracing their car window… well, now you can have it again in 2012!

This one is a higher resolution one with more color.

Here's a T-shirt: http://www.redbubble.com/people/chapel976/works/8792740-rusty-jones-rust-prevention-hifi

Here's one with a little less definition:

This one is die cut to the graphics

use this one for a Lo Fi square cut sticker:

they went out of business in 1988... so it wouldn't be 'period correct' on anything made after that... but I still think it's fun

Yup. I'll have to dig up some pics of my '85 with the window sticker. When I got the car, I was like who the F is this guy?! But it was comical to me so I left it there. And now I know what it is Arrow

I most commonly associate him with Subaru. Also, my boss who looked like him also drove nothing but Subarus too.

Good stuff! He was on every subaru I ever saw when I was a kid. Seems people finally realized it actually might have made it rust faster...lol

Thanks for the fun memory.

I know a guy who worked at a dealership body shop that applied the stuff. he said it had to be applied JUST right... most people didn't put it on correctly. the surface had to be totally dry and free of oils... if you didn't strip it, you just sealed in moisture

I remember seeing it on all of my grandparent's friends cars, but not their own cars lol. And I still see them at the junkyards on the older stuff. I think it's pretty funny! I might have to buy some and put them on the two door just because.

they get cheaper the more you buy (and not just of the same design)
I think if you buy 3 or 4, you get 50% off your order

My parents had an 85 Subaru with this sticker. It rusted out in like 5 years.

I just remembered, my friend's rotted out 88 Suburban has a nice Rusty Jones sticker on the driver's butterfly window, the truck has like 85K miles and is alllllll rotted out. Might have been one of the last vehicles to get the treatment!
