| How'd you wind up hitting that up? That's the Ayer autocross right, the old Ft. Devens airstrip? I've always wanted to go there. And look, yet ANOTHER Z71 Tahoe... lol | |

And look, yet ANOTHER Z71 Tahoe... lol Yup, wicked fun just to talk to everyone. My sister is dating this mazda guy, not what i went there for! Those corvettes do what theyre meant to do out there! That tahoe actually has your bumper idea! Please do it because it makes it look great and a bit more rugged.

Yeah, autoX rocks! Especially at devins! Anybody seen this SS "racking up trophies" on You Tube yet? Thats Tad Banzuelo's monster beating up on Vettes, Bimmers, Ferraris, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lJHBujAEdQ&feature=related If you take the time to research his J5 car, theres a lot of good tech scattered on the net. He seems to be the very best in the game at B-body auto-Xing.

Yup, it looks awesome. Like I said, only adds to the rugged look. You know that you have to separate yourself from the mommys. Matt, wanna bring the impala out here? - toomanytoyz wrote:

Yeah, autoX rocks! Especially at devins! I'm afraid to drive cus I'll be hooked. I'll get info and put a thread in the event section so we can plan a B-body assualt on their race day! But crovo the scoobie would be pretty sweet out there too

| I went to a small track day at the BMW dealer in Peabody on Centennial Drive once for Mini Coopers, and a couple people suggested I take the Impala through to be funny, but it wouldn't fit through the cones, that were spaced for Minis. LOL | |

He seems to be the very best in the game at B-body auto-Xing. Tad is very good and very fast. However, giving him the title of best B-Body AutoX might be a bit premature though. Ed Runnion of California is hands down the best B-Body autocrosser. ---- But yea, AutoX is amazing. Almost as fun as real wheel-to-wheel racing, and definately far safer. Heres my LTZ with some opposite lock action at the Autocross in St. Louis a few years ago: I know Crovo has some sweet shots from that event too.

Gonna work on figuring it out. But I think your Porsche would be a bit better through the cones lol.

| I get emails from the sccnh (loudon) and the svt and viper clubs (devins) and know the schedules. But i don't have a car to run, and with the low attendance at the NED race, I haven't tried to put anything together. We don't have enough guys to make setting up our own day possible (need like 40-60 cars at fifty bucks each) so if you want to tag along on someone else's event, google those clubs and sign up. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | NER SCCA (New England Region - Sports Car Club of America)
April 10: Knock the Rust Off April 23: Solo Airways May 1: Speedway Slalom (New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH) June 12: Springtime Coneage July 16: Novice/Intermediate Autocross School July 17: Cone-A-Thon August 6: Race Against Leukemia & Jeff Gordon Challenge - (New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH) August 7: Race Against Leukemia - (New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH) August 13: Test'n'Tune and Advanced Driver School August 14: Scorched Orange September 18: Dodging Orange September 25: Attack of the Cones October 9: Finale and Stirling Moss October 22: Team Challenge
These are the New England SCCA events, these events we will all be able to drive whatever car. Crovo you could run anything including the dime, one guy had a Volvo wagon with an automatic, another with a auto corolla. Sunday when I went it was an SCCA event and though there are a lot of cars there it still gives you plenty of racing.
my sisters boyfriend who had me tag along has a blog with tons of different clubs events but I think we'd have the most fun at the more diverse SCCA events posted here.

| I say we should pick one and if anyone in the club wants to go they can choose for themselves. And the porsche is better through the cones, I've got a few podiums this year (3rd mostly) but the Buick... well I like how it sounds more | |

| I won't run with the scca guys anymore. I did a few times and they do their damndest to take the fun out of the day. "your car can't be in this class because those lugnuts aren't stock! " etc, etc... Boo. Sccnh is fun, but very short course and very technical (read - small gates for little cars) but the guys that run the show and the competitors are great and make for a fun day. The Devins autoX's are BY FAR the most fun. LONG LONG course and you can really get moving (and into some fun trouble) in the fast parts. And the svt, sho, and viper club guys are all great guys. And yeah, i know you can race anything. I raced big ugly once! But the frame on the dime won't hold up to it and the brakes like to "abs out" at anything more than half pedal pressure. I hope to have the screwubaru back together in time to hit a couple events later in the seaon. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... If I'm going alone I'll probably only go to the mazda/scca events because thats what the kid who got me into it goes to. As a club, I'll go anywhere just to have some more club events. If more people are interested we should all check our calendars and pick a few dates that work out the best. Maybe it'll be one later in the season so that you can run too Crovo! | |
