| well if the compressor is broke and the condensor is damaged it was just cheaper to get rid of it. | |

I'd personally never delete my a/c. call me spoiled but I love a/c lol. Maybe its another 1/2 year thing. I don't know why anybody would want to delete a/c. I did it on my Monte, but it was R12. I'd rather not pay to convert. Personally id try and fix it. Maybe you are tightening the doorman pulley too much. And, is it really cheaper? Sounds like you've already spent a bunch of money after the fact. I'm sure there's guys here that have some extra a/c stuff. A week ago I sold a good compressor to a friend for 20 bucks. You just have to ask.

The caprice has Ice cold R-12 in it, I dont use it all that much because it really sucks gas up more than normal, but im never taking it off unless the bracket breaks somehow. It could be cheap enough to just grab a JY system and fix whats broken.

| I took my a/c off the lt1, then again it's going into a truck that didnt come with air, and I'm not gonna try and add ducts and all the b/s. We live in MA not Texas. I'll use my 2/55 a/c on this project! | |

| I'd you take the actual pulley wheel off the triangle bracket it came mounted on and place the large washer behind the wheel and then reinstall wheel to triangle? The actual triangle shaped bracket should seat against the factory bracket with NO washers in between. | |

| been thinking of doing that also i noticed on my spare one the bearing is larger than the area it mounts to thebracket. same as the one on the car and i bet on the others i replaced. its off by less than a mm. so im gonna try the washer for now but am leaning more towards geting a 1LE pulley. | |

| I got rid of the AC in the 9C1 and thinking of deleting it in the RMW. I've never had any luck with AC once the factory compressor goes. It never seems to last and I got sick of buying compressors. Only use it about 3 times a year anyway (except this year!).
To answer your question, I bought a GM pulley and it doesn't make any noise. It's been on for tens of thousands of miles, not sure exactly how many.
