| alright iam workin on my 94 9c1. had a bad brake line so i replaced it and blead the rears. i would have a petal with the car off but if u held it it would slowly sink 2 the floor and if u started it. the petal would go to the floor.. so i put my master cylinder in it from the impala 2 see if that was it. put it is still doin the same. i bled all 4 wheels many times. there all getting fluid.. where do i go from here???? iam bein told it still could be air in the abs, a bad caliper, or booster?? iam lost on ot now. i need 2 get it goin 2night.. | |

| I had good brake pedal when I had it. The two things I would check is brake pad thickness. If two or more corners are down to 2/32 or so on the pad, you are not going to get a good brake pedal. It also sounds like you still may have air in the rear. I would replace all the fluid in the system by filling the master cylinder and keep bleeding until only fresh fluid squirts out. How are you bleeding the system? Start with the pass rear, then the drivers rear, then the pass front, then finally the drivers front. Also try pumping the pedal a couple times. |

| & hit the caliper with a rubber mallet before you start bleeding. My car basically gravity feeds the calipers but that rear brakeline takes a while to clear the air

| ok before i go and fully bleed the system again. i went ahead and bought new front calipers, pads, rotors.. it needed it anyways and the bleeders sucked on the old ones.. i pulled everything apart 2night and i found that the pads are junk the inside pad has a washer thickness left 2 it. also because of that the caliper piston was pushed way out of the caliper. so i believe that is my problem with losing the pressure. it has no stroke left. both sides are like that in the front.. heres some pics... here is the caliper as it was when i pulled it off (the fluid is from pullin the line off) and here is the inside pad there is nothin left to it.. | |

| If the bleeders even worked, that was a miracle. I dont think it was a piston travel thing. I've seen people eat the pad completely. With new parts you've eliminated that anyway.
BTW dont do a brake job with your dress shirt on _________________ Steve 96BBB 28K 3.42 Bolt-ons 95BBB 100K 3.73 383 New DD...already broke fixt the 4L60E twice 95 Black WB4 Hole...ee...grail 96 Black WB4 No holes in this 95BBB 189K 3.08 Old DD Stolen...by Matt. Whine..eee...Silver LS6 | |

| But if that was a 9c1 caliper and non-9c1 pads, the piston may have travelled too far? _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | Did you put anti-sieze on the bleeders? Thats the only reason my 95 calipers failed. _________________ Steve 96BBB 28K 3.42 Bolt-ons 95BBB 100K 3.73 383 New DD...already broke fixt the 4L60E twice 95 Black WB4 Hole...ee...grail 96 Black WB4 No holes in this 95BBB 189K 3.08 Old DD Stolen...by Matt. - ok so i installed new calipers, pads, rotors, wheel berrings and seals 2night on the caprice.. gravity bleed the rears and normally bleed the new front calipers seeing i had fluid already in the lines up front.. the brakes will put into the dash now!! there mint. still planning on doin rear rotors and pads and possibily calipers as well so i know everthing is perfect.. i took a few pics
and yes i painted my calipers red. some people hate it but they look good behind the 9c1 wheels..
Looks good. Nice time of the year to have good brakes... - 95brmw wrote:
