| I pulled the opti off the 4.3 today, and the plug had oil in it, when I separated it there was oil inside also. I don't seem to have an oil leak, the cap and rotor had no oil, just corroded. The plug for the wire harness is where it was. Anyone seen this on theirs? I know I've had it happen in boats and it f's up the signal, but where is the damn oil coming from? The wires? Didnt see any on the outside of them.
Also no seals leaking, and the cap bolts came Right out while the other unit I had I snapped them all off. Lol. | |

| My caprice and my friends' caprice had the same thing. The seal around the body of the opti fails over time. Mine also had leaked in though the electrical connector for the optical sensor. I bought a new GM cap and rotor kit, took care of that. On my friends we cleaned it out and RTVd the seals on it. No leaks so far. | |

| I've pulled a couple apart like that too. Probly coming in through the bearing or drive seal or something... _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | Looks lime it just ran down the wires, and into the connection. I have a good wire, opti vent harness, I am trying to find a good cap and rotor now, mine are usable but I'm hesitant. | |
