Master of the Road got an interior spa treatment

I woke up today and replaced my burned out trunk pull down motor. (Thanks Tom) Then I felt motivated to do more.

This was a smokers car and needed my treatment. I felt gross just being in the car.



Some before pics. The interior is red and the sun was shining strong so you cant really see how dirty the carpet is.









Using a stiff bristle brush to remove dirt from crevices.



After vacuuming.



The rug had a lot of dirt in it that the vacuum alone could not remove. This is where a hot water extractor would be great. But, I don't have one. So I took another stiff bristle brush and gave the rug a dry brushing to bring some more dirt to the surface.



Here you can see the dirt that dry brushing brings to the surface.



I then used some diluted purple power and my stiff brush to scrub the rug clean. I used a dry towel after brushing to wipe away the dirt and then hit it again with the vacuum.



After that I cleaned the leather seats. I used Lexol cleaner. After cleaning with lexol, I let the seats sit in the sun to dry and warm up. The warm sun opens the pores of the leather and allows the conditioner to soak in better.

Rear seat cleaned, conditioned and installed.



I went ahead and started on the rest of the interior plastic and vinyl surfaces. I used the purple power with a towel using a spray and wipe method. After I cleaned everything I dressed it with Meguiars Natural Shine interior protectant.



I noticed in this picture that I missed the floor vents!







Seats back in, factory floor mats cleaned and reinstalled.









Rear floor mat was stained by the previous owner.





Couldn't get that tar crap of the sill trim. I need some solvent...

Looks pretty schweet! Those vents must be killing you, I bet that didn't last an hour of day light before you were on top of them.

Anytime you want to come up I'm in.
You can work right outside of my shop if the weather holds
I'll supply the air, power & water, buy lunch & coffee etc...
You supply all the right product & your attention to detail.
I've never let anyone touch the 96 but the 95 is screaming for attention
You could even buff out Matts car inside if we hit bad weather

That has actually been a goal of mine for a few years Steve! Me and Kayla are doing what we can to get money together and save up for it. That was the main reason I bought the Silhouette van. I had an idea for a mobile detailing business.

Red is my favorite color. Luckily, both of my b's have red interior!

I loved the red interior from the 84 coupe. Everything about that car was pure red lol. I'm saving all of the pieces for another project down the line.

The Roadie looks GREAT!

A LOT better than what I normally do at work on sundays, but then again, landscaping trucks don't need this treatment.

That came out beautiful, I really didn't think it looked that bad when I poked my head in there are the roundup.

I feel your pain on the previous smoker's car experience, my truck was like that when I bought it. When I had the seats out of it, I blasted them in the driveway while soaking them with Simple Green, nicotine tar came out of them for what seemed like forever!
