| Do what I want to do. Put the body on a LT1 9C1 frame! Check the pillars on the doors, they get bad and trust me it aint easy finding them. Took me three years to find a set of clean doors. Try not to part it right away, 87 is the last two door only 3,110 Good luck with it! Matt B | |

| Nice. The only year with two doors, plastic headlamp capsules, camaro/corvette/montecarlo style mirrors. And I think EFI. |

I was just saying it was the only year you could get all of those idems on the same car from the factory, as the 86 did not have plastic headlamp capules. |

But if you think that style looks good on the two door I agree, the 86 one year only front end makes the car look like a beater to me.

No! Find a lt1 bubble that is rotted, but runs super,( I am sure you know where one is. ) and transplant that two door body on it. Those are pretty rare, and it would be a cool hotrod. |

| I'd make it a project if I were you. It probably has less rust issues than my 84 so I really would consider keeping it. The only interior part you can't switch from a four door is the rear armrests, but now that I think of it they're probably the same too. the bonne seats look great in them anyway so with a crap interior you have a perfect chance to go wild on it. The body would drop right onto the 9c1 frame and you have enough that computer problems are ruled out. I'd sit on it for a bit and decide between project pr parts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yeR2Z8mi0w&feature=related There was also a website someone posted on here with a car like this with a beige bonne interior. It looked great. If its parts i call dibs on the pass. quarter panel and the doors Matt B. | |

| FYI, the only box Caprices with EFI were the 1989 and 1990 cars, except for the 4.3 V6 cars that debuted earlier with TBI on them. The boxy wagons were Olds 307 powered so they were carbed even in '90.
Definitely save that if the body is remotely solid. If the frame is good, I'd at least get the car running. What's wrong with it?

| Theat car is just a roller if i remember correctly. That's why its a great candidate for a 9C1 chassis, LT1, T56, And leather Bonne seats. | |

| That's a good idea. Heat up the tires so that you have better traction when crawling up the mountains in the winter. Maybe they should make it standard on all the off road rigs.
Is it just me or do the dust shields look a bit too yellow?

| Subject: the pillars under the top Sat Oct 09, 2010 4:31 pm | |
| Uploaded with ImageShack.us The pillars are rusted, but they is no holes, like there was on Brads car. There is some sort of filler in there. I removed the filler and you can see the welds. Don't know if it was fixed or what. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Thats not metal. Uploaded with ImageShack.us | |

| On vinyl cars they didn't "finish" the roofs. They generally use filler instead of finish welds on the seams and then they slap the vinyl down over it. The rear seams where the roof panel meets the quarter is generally nothing but putty that's smoothed down enough to not show through the top.
If you pull the entire top off expect to have to do some welding and sanding to get everything nice and smooth.

| Check the frames of the doors themselves. They go very easily. That really doesn't look too bad at all. compared to my 84 and brad's car. I think the body is still a great candidate for a swap onto a newer 9C1 chassis. | |
