| Navy Lifer (Bill Harper) is willing to do a discount for larger quantity purchases of the EZ-Change shock hardware kit available as offered on ISSF. Can be seen in this thread. It's a sliding scale, but the best deal is 1/3 off of regular price if we can get a group buy of at least 15 kits--regular price is $24 delivered, and the discounted price would be $16, not including delivery. If we can't get a 15-kit buy together, there are still smaller discounts for 5 or more available. Bill will deliver the kits to one address for distribution by whoever puts this deal together (I guess that means me). I'm in for one, and two if we need it. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | Ok. I added a poll for the count. I'll take two. And yeah, I can collect the moolah @ Newick's. If I'm lucky, I can pass them out then, too. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | Whatever happened with this? I want a set for the 74 because I am about to pull the Bilsteins out for not agreeing with the springs in it. I may get two sets, one for the Caprice too, because the Bilsteins are going in that thing.
I just emailed Navy Lifer then searched and saw this thread. If someone wants to get a quick GP going, I'm in.

| years ago (30)when i worked at midas muffler three and a half years. most people make the wrong mistake. you dont try to unscrew the nuts on the shocks. you break the bolts. all you need is a good 1/2 drive air wrench, 24 inch extension 13mm or 1/2 inch same thing. some times worn out sockets works better on the tightness. break them off. install your kit. whats the price now? or put in 4 two on each side. 5/16 x 1 bolts not sure of the lenght. hey it was a long time ago. OIL the threads, put on washers, nuts. this is the good point about your kit, you dont have to put your finger up there to hold the top of the bolt.. if you have the money for the GP buy it . IM IN.

My exhaust guy could probably fab something for me he does all sorts of crazy metal work. I am going to be doing my rear shocks soon and I am not looking forward to it.. I've been putting it off.

| I got a set. They're ok. Stainless steel which means no rust, but a soft metal. Overall I'd say they're nice, but I'm including them with the shocks I'm selling at no extra charge, so take that for what it's worth. | |

Can you do m a favor and measure center to center on the threaded part? Is it 5/16 coarse thread? Must be... _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | I'll bring them up with me on the 3rd and someone can measure for you if you don't come over yourself. Otherwise you can check them out at the roundup. It's basically just a 6" or so 1/4" thick piece of round stock that's bent and threaded. I figure you could make it yourself with a tubing bender and a tap/die set.

| once the shocks are on,. how many times you gonna change 'em?? a split washer underneath the top bolts and they'll do up easy with an air gun,. TIP: pop you rear springs out,. makes top of shock install a breeze,.use new stainless bolts n nuts,.
nick too poor to buy newfangled gadgets,. ps: i actually have a set that Bill sent me to try 5 yrs ago, still in the package,. i can bring them to roundown ,.
