Impala Wheel Center Cap Options??? The Ultimate Collection of Impala Center Cap Info

I know this has been beaten to death, but with only a few options in each thread, I'd like it all in one thread. I am pulling some info from other threads here as well as all over the net, even some great info credited to our own Chris McCabe, but let me know if any of this info is confirmed to be incorrect.

What is out there for options for SS wheel caps?

I Love the look of SS wheels, but I always hated the caps. I have considered Corvette wheels, but by the time you get a set, adapters, and tires, it's a costly venture, and I plan to someday have 500hp on tap, so I am not wild about the idea of spacers with it.

I really want to have something that once we have everything put together I can re-do this first post to a simple breakdown.

This is the pic that got me thinking....


So what is out there for options?
I would like to make a list that is sticky worthy, so I will adapt this original post to include everything that gets confirmed.
I would like to keep it to things that are actually confirmed, as in you have actual done it or seen pics. I would also like to break it down to ones that fit without modification as well as ones that work with mods.

Lets get a list going....and please post pics if you have them and years if you know them

No Mods:
-Stock SS Wheel caps
-Smooth ones??? Model????
-Caddy Deville: 90-98 - With Crest - http://www.centercaps.net/caps/details.php?stockNumber=1216
-Caddy Deville: 2000-2005 - have the traditional wreath and crest


-Caddy DTS: 2006-2011 - has the newer style wresth and crest
-S10: ZQ8 Wheels - Flat with Bowtie


-(W)Impala: bowtie with carbon fiber-look background


-Monte Carlo: 98/99 with Black background and Red Bowtie.
-Lumina LTZ: 98/99 with Black background and Chrome Bowtie
-Malibu: 97 Malibu with gold malibu logo, 98/99 Malibu with carbon fiber background and Chrome bowtie
-Malibu: 200-2002 - Pronounced convex shape. Silver with small dark Grey Bowtie.


-Chevy Venture: 1997-2005 - Flat Style with bow tie - http://www.centercaps.net/caps/details.php?stockNumber=712


-Camaro Caps: 93-96 Black background and Camaro in center. Also says Chevrolet around the base of the chrome nut type thing in the center



Mods Needed:
-No caps: Grind off the cap lips - (Billy Mac Style)

Nice info, Doug. I believe Rob (cloud 9) has the blank center caps on his caprice in his sig, maybe he can chime in and say what they came off of. Also, I had some that I believe were from a monte carlo that had yellow bowties on them.

I want to say that the smooth center caps might be from the alloys found on some 90s 2wd 5 on 5 Chevy trucks and Astro/Safari vans, but I'm not sure.

I didn't see it listed, but the bowtie caps with the carbonfiber-ish checkerboard background came on the FWD "Wimpala" as well if they had the aluminum wheels that mimicked the 94-96 SS wheel.

They would be on the mid to late 90s two wheel drive full size pickups and also on the astro vans which had the same wheels. I will post a pic tonight.

I believe 96-99 were smooth, and 92-95 had the fake black lugs in them?

I think those are the waaaay too big ones. I have a set in my basement. About the only thing they fit is the truck wheels they came from and inside a garbage can...

Lumina caps
Monte Carlo caps
Cadillac caps

The 4wd are bigger, I have those and they def. wouldn't fit the Impala. It's worth a shot if someone has the 2wd ones...

You mean like the Astro/Safari van caps?

The ones shown on the Tahoe and the astro ones are too big also, not as big as the 4wd 16 inch wheel centers, but they are still too big. I bought one for my old style zq8 wheel and it didn't fit.

Thanks for the elimination on that one, I've always wondered since I knew the 2wd caps were smaller
