PostSubject: OOPS. Make sure you Torgue those Bolts.   Sun Aug 09, 2009 7:31 pm

I went to Jims last weekend to try to align my front end as its got a shimmy at 65/70.
Well we managed to get the wheels fairly close to straight. But the shimmy was still there.
A couple of days ago i pull into my driveway and hear a louder than usual clunk from the rear end.
I look underneath and see this.

Looks like i didn't get the nuts tight enough when i installed the shocks.
Being the pack rat that i am i still had the hardware from the old shocks.
Managed to get it back
into the hole and tightened but i think the shaft is bent a little.
Shimmys not completly gone but it's not as bad.
Thank god it happened in the driveway not on the highway.

Mark:

Loose nuts is the number one cause of unexpected problems all around the world!
Keep your nuts tight and in good order and your day will go much better!

At least you don't have a screw loose. lol! I had that happen to the front shocks on my ghey blue 9C1. I phucked up the other shock because I didn't catch it right off. I couldn't even remember who installed them. I'm bad about that.

People waited until now to make jokes about Mark's missing nuts and his bent shaft? He did make his post in August by the time stamp, so I guess that means you guys really don't care as much about your friends nuts bouncing down the road as you pretend to Laughing

Now there's a visual you won't get out of your head for a while lol!

Sorry Mark but this is just such an easy topic to act stupid with. Maybe it should be a sticky. Then it would be a sticky nut post lol!
