'94 DGGM RMW added to the Badass community

Just picked up a replacement for my white '96 RMW that rusted to oblivion underneath that gave us ~12 years of faithful service. Found this DGGM '94 with the tow package on Craigslist- it was bought by the PO as a father/son project to put this drivetrain in an old El Camino. This had been sitting on dirt and under trees since Feb awaiting dismantling, but apparently the son now has more interest in his iPhone (don't get me started) and girls (OK, that one I get) than the project, so Dad sold the car.

To make a long story short, I've gone through all the fluids, and changed the wheels and exhaust. Wheels from factory aluminum with crappy tires to body colored steelies with BFGs, and leaky factory exhaust to 2-1/2" Dynomax with Thrush Turbos and tailpipe delete, stolen from my white one. This thing was totally covered in leaves and twigs- filthy inside and out. Still some cleaning to do, but it's looking sharp.

Hmmmm.... I was going to use the "host an image" button, but no worky worky. Probably operator error.

Yup, we're that old! I think I bought the 9C1 in like '99 or '00, so 15+ years, still going strong w/ ~204k on it. I try not to drive that in the winter so the spread of rot has been slow on that one. The wagon was driven daily all year round and was my main winter beater so that rotted away to nothing unfortunately because it is still running great and dependable w/ ~214k on it.

You don't like the color?!? Man, I love it! I understand that you may "know" this car- I bought it from David Acheson. When I showed up in the Caddy to look at it, he said man, I have a buddy who has a bunch of those things... blah blah... put a 6-speed in one... ding ding ding.... hey, that wouldn't be Bill Crovo, would it? Holy crap, yes, that IS Bill Crovo, you know him, too?!

So should I be able to upload pics from my PC using the "host an image" button?

That car has my old rear suspension level sensor in it out of the Marshmallow.

No way! Damn! I had no idea or I definitely would have called! Shoot... He never mentioned that you lived that close.

Any idea why that level sensor was unplugged? I plugged it in, and the system seems to work.

And I feel honored to have part of the marshmallow!

Surprised he didn't tell you. Bummer...

I'd guess thr shocks leak down over time and it was killing the battery.

Some pics- I replaced the stock aluminum wheels with my favorite look, body colored steelies. I wish I had taken an "as bought" pic of it covered with mildew, twigs and leaves!

LOL I agree! I think I will wait till spring, but have no fear, at least the front will be lowered at some point. I will be using it for towing, so I don't want to mess with the back I don't think...

I actually wanted that car for a winter beater last year. I was going to get a donk lift kit for it, run some 31" All Terrain tires (white letter, of course!) on some 15x8" white wagon wheels and slap a few KC Daylighters on the front roof rack for a light bar. Woulda been the perfect snow assault vehicle!

Dude, you and Kim should definitely come to the Roundup in Dover on Saturday! Your daughter must be 10? 12? now???

Yup, she's 12 and 4" taller than Mom. Can't go this weekend but I would like to try to get to these things once in a while again. I've been slackin' for too many years now.
