Got all the parts for it, i don't own the wheels or tires. Paid to much, waiting for the title. (gotta apply for a lost one)
But it should make an awesome runner. Always wanted a 95 Maine State Police car. This ones been painted, but the color is close.

I bought it from the guy that smacked it up. He hit it in OCT with his 1 ton and creaced the doors, and it pushed the pillar in about 3 inches, nothing a strap, and a backhoe can't fix right?
The insurance co paid for it, and hauled it away. He had to drive down and buy it back and hauled it back home. I saw it on CL about 6 miles from me. I paid some cash, and traded some parts. He is keeping the wheels and tires and the stereo. I'll have to find some 9c1 wheels, but where would i find a set of those? hmmm

So last night i got it in the garage, and did some Extrication training on the pass side doors, being that they wouldn't open. Got the rear one open, worked on the front with a sledge hammer and a 4ft prybar, peeled the skin of the door back, pulled the levers, no luck. As my collegues at the FD always say, try before you pry, or at least unlock the F'in thing. Snapped the unlock, opened right up.
The rear quarters have been redone (badly) i have a set coming from down south, so those will get changed, Going to SEM the bottom completely, try to preserve it best i can.
The high beams don't work. Going to replace the harness, it was butchered with a falsher and some driving lights.
Want to find some nice seats and probably a blazer console.

Done some work last couple nights. Pulled the seats and tossed them, who puts a pass seat in the drivers position, ugh!
Putlled the mats, there is a soft spot in the floor, so i'm going to address that.
The front body mounts are solid, with some rust bleed through, and drivers rear floor looks like it had a leak for awhile. going to clean them up and SEM the whole floor of the car. Then i'll Fluid film the mounts and stuff from the outside, that should stop the rust and protect the mounts. Will do this twice a year.
Drivers
pass
drivers seat
The only holes i found so far in the floor pan

The rear quarter on the pass side has been replaced, badly. The drivers was solid untill i started screwing around, and now its swish cheesed.
Drivers
pass side
body mount, little surface rust, but the complete mount is still there. HOORAY!!!

The floor pan is scaly on her, I've wire brushed it off, I'm thinking Fluid Film is my best option. SEM would work, but unless I get all the scale off it will just peel away eventually. I'm going to fill the holes with some sealer to keep the water out, and ill SEM the inside and fluid film the underside.

What is this fluid film you speak of?
Not the ol....chainsaw oil trick? cuz I'm assuming you'd say oil the outside to type less.

I'm definitely going to invest in some Fluidfilm for the DGGM car...I've been examining it and was happy to find it's not really "rotted out" anyplace except for a small spot weld on the driver's quarter. I want it to stay that way.
It's pretty strange how these cars rust, look how clean this one was and what it turned out needing, sucks but looks savable:
Definitely appears to have started on the outside and moved inward...I bet the winter driving and parking it in a heated garage made it happen, I remember my dad telling me about a guy with some sort of mint condition Ford product (forget what it was) and how the frame completely rotted out from him only washing the top sides of the car and leaving the salt and snow to melt in the garage...something like that...
Personally Glen I'd still try to paint anything you can...however I'm not as well-versed as you on the FF...won't that stuff wash off eventually from being splashed with water? I know it's good stuff but still...I figured you could wire brush anything loose from the car and then brush SEM over it and it would hold?

Matt, Wiring brushing removes a lot, but you know as I do, it would take days to get all the lose shit out from the underbody. The Fluid Film doesn't wash off, it bonds well, and seals up nicely. It's works well on my truck, I've done all the brake lines, and inside the frame. It does collect dust but its not oily like the old spraying the oil in the frame.
Ironfistdog,
I'd like a 6.2, but not for $5k, and the 5.3 can make as much hp as the 6.2. Not that I need much for a 3000 pound shortbed.

TSC or John Deer Dealerships. Though you can order it offline. For the high water splash areas use the super thick stuff that comes from a paint can. Brush it on and it's so tacky it wont come off. The spray holds up great on the under carriage, but wheel wells benefit greatly from the thick stuff.

Doors are pretty straight Glen, the usual dings, 3-4 spots where the state garage peeled the emblems off and very little rust as far as I can see inside the door.
