$500 Wagon Empty
PostSubject: $500 Wagon   $500 Wagon EmptyTue Jun 19, 2012 9:11 pm

Sold to a Single Mom on Craigslist who's minivan had been hit and was totaled. I told my wife I was happy someone who needed it got it.

Abington MA - 1994 Chevy Caprice Wagon 172k miles
It may not be pretty but it is Solid & dependable and it's time for it to go. I got it a few years back after my pick up got stolen and it has served me well. The two tone paint is where the rear quarters were repaired and never had the finishing touches done, (rust was cut out, new put in, a base of fiberglass & sealed with paint). There is some surface rust on the drivers door, it is not a hole. The broken grill & front end bumps were all there when I bought it. It also needs either a split flange on drivers side at cat/mid pipe, or a weld like I had done to pass side.

Everything is in working order except the drivers window. It doesn't like to go up, but I have the new motor from Rock Auto that will come with the car. The stereo & speakers will be removed leaving all the stock holes & wiring. This car as I said is very dependable. It just passed inspection about 2 months ago, and always has. I keep up with all repairs and preventive. Previous owner used strictly Mobil 1, just as I have every 5,000 miles, (the light just came on 3-4 days ago).

In the last 1-2 years it has gotten new Moog Ball Joints, 4 Tie rods & sleeves and an idler arm up front. It could use front shocks & springs. In the rear it got new springs & spring assisted shocks which really stiffened up the rear end. Under the hood it has seen a new radiator, electric fan ipo mech fan, water pump opti, plugs, wires, coil, belt tensioner and a new heater core.

Rear tires are good/excellent fronts I let it go to long needing an alignment and it now can use an alignment & front tires.

I called 2 local yards and for scrap they quoted me $400. If I get a bite in a few days to a week for $500 I will sell it and someone can have a reliable car if not I will part it out as best I can and drive or tow it to a local yard and take the scrap money.

IIRC, its a caprice wagon. He was tossed between selling/parting out not too long ago due to a long commute. Sounds worth it. Try and email someone here some pics they can post for you.

And unfortunately an asshole will always be an asshole. I guess someone's Momma never taught her child manners. I never hid or "dressed up a pig". I was up front calling it "ugly but dependable". All I was trying to do was help someone out that might need a cheap reliable car. If I was trying to get $1000-1500 for it I would be trying to pull something over on someone, but I am not.

Next time you want to insinuate or imply something try doing it at least with out vulgarity & crudeness. People might take you more seriously if you use your Big Boy words.

Two tons....buddy..... not knocking your sale nor did I imply anything..... its worth the $$$$ all day for what your asking......

.... IM just commenting on the quote of " with some paint that wont be that bad." Razz

..... Guys throw that out here all the time yet no one ever just throws paint on it, just like the way your selling yours unfinished......

...... So you can be asshole by over thinking my comment...... and I would use big boy words but its easier to speak stoopid rabbit

if you think the word pig is an insult and vulgarity , when you sell the wagon go buy some thicker skin. elephant

?no idea. I'm pretty sure you've got the wrong person. I have an HP, BIG deal. I just choose to upload the pics there and paste the link. Plus, its easier having new members email me their pics, I start a new photobucket accnt for them, and upload their pics. That way there's no confusion later on, they can change passwords and what not once I email them back.
