Mike has gone out of his way to help us out. He had the EGR pipe we needed, plus he immediately shipped it - and it already got here today. We're back in bidness. Thank you Mike!!! Here's where the EGR pipe's going. I came across a 120K mile '94 Roadmaster Ltd whose owner had given up on the car. It had a bad differential, a number of electrical gremlins leading to parasitic battery draw, and it needed tranny and engine seals and gaskets, including a rear main. So I got it cheap. We are putting the LT1 and 4L60E into a '87 Jaguar XJ-6, that blew the engine in 1989 at 10K miles, and has been garaged ever since. So what about the EGR pipe? In California if you want to do a swap, the donor has to be a later model plus every bit of the smog stuff that came original must be transferred to the receiving car. To get the LT1 to fit the Jag, we needed to go to center dump manifolds, which of course have no air injection ports or EGR. So we had to port the manifolds and rig up the air injection and EGR systems. The EGR pipe on the Roadmaster was pretty worn, without enough meat to weld on. So we needed a new one. Mike came through. Thanks again to Mikiehews and to this great Board! Here are a few pics: First, the sad donor: [img] [/img] The recipient: [img] [/img] The EGR Pipe: [img] [/img]

| I'm extremely happy that worked out. We gotta figure out how to get those pics up. I'm just passing along the great hospitality I got from Glen. Rock on! | |

| Wow, looks like a cool swap! And man, that driveway looks way too nice to risk spilling oil or coolant onto! | |

Does blocking off the EGR bring the combustion temps up like 500 degrees? | |
