| Swapped 96' Impala SS axle, ( for the 3.08 ring gear, disc brakes, bigger sway bar, posi), into my '78 Impala with a GM Crate LS1. Trying to use 5 X 5/ 15 X 7 rims... is there an easy way to accomplish this? Trying to keep the stealies rims. Keeping the stock Hub Caps for the 'sleeper' look. Also, my brother lost the car in a ditch running 70's series tires. Now running 255/60's on the rear. Hard to get the 225/60's on the stock 15 X 6 rims up front. Not afraid to swap spindles, but what mode/year would fit to keep it a sleeper/ stock look ...and, out of the ditch?

Use wheels with a universal lug pattern for the cheap option or swap the front end over to the 5x5 pattern. I'm having the same issue, I want to use a new rear end for the same reasons, but I want to keep the 5x4.75 pattern. Either way would work.

| Keep the 5x4.75 bolt pattern, you'll have better wheel options. Drill new holes in the rear end in a 5x4.75 pattern and be done with it. | |

I'm having the same issue, I want to use a new rear end for the same reasons, but I want to keep the 5x4.75 pattern. Either way would work. The splines are different from the 1970's to the Impala SS, SS has 30, 1970's had 27? So axle shafts are a direct fit. An axle shaft swap w/ur bolt pattern desired would work, but remember, 1970's shaft's are i think 1.125 dia / 27/28 spline, and the SS is 1.30 Dia/ 30 spline......

To Late, already running 5 X 5 255/60's on the rear, don't want adapters up front, and only want to carry one full size spare. Really don't want to drill the front rotors....

| Not really Many options then. 5x5 rotors will not fit on a 4.75 spindle, and a 5x5 spindle will not fit on 4.75 a-arms, different size ball joints, I've been though it all trying to get my 95 from 5x5 to 5x4.75, gave up eventually because all options involve machining either rear axles or the rotors. | |
