That's too bad, at least he lived a pretty long and fruitful life though. May he rest in peace...

It is sad to hear he has passed, but he leaves behind one hell of a legacy. He did live a good long life. No one can take that away from him. We should all be so lucky.
The closest thing he put together that I have owned is the Omni GLH, And it did. But man! When I was a kid. I wanted a 69 GT500KR or a 66 GT350H. And of course a 66 Cobra. He inspired me to shove v8s into Pintos. It is good to see Shelby America will continue.

RIP Carroll.

Another giant loss to the automotive performance world. It is a shame all of the big names are leaving us and more will pass in the coming years. Shelby made some kick-ass cars and no one will forget his name. I'd call that a great legacy! R.I.P. Best regards to his family.

I have wanted an Omni GLH or Shelby Charger since I was little...my dad had bought a new 1981 Omni "024" before I was born because his other vehicles were all gas guzzlers...so I liked the Shelby Chargers that were the same overall body, nose piece (similar), etc...

Ol' Shel was one of the great drivers, hucksters, and visionaries of the last 60 years with respect to high performance cars. A void that will never be filled.

He sure was something back in "the day". I still have all his Cobra parts books I got for hallucinating back then. Had/have a lot of his "creations" over the years. They were something back then BUT now a little V6 Turbo would kick there ass RIP Mr. Shelby... Wonder if his kids want to buy one of his favorite cars back
