| Came from my gf's Brother. I personally know the owner before him, got it from the auctions. I can't honestly state for a fact it's an lt4 but the car is known around my circle of friends and I've heard independantly a bunch of times it's an lt4 so I'm going with it. Speaking of which anyboby know what to look for to confirm it is in fact a lt4? | |

| Well, they never came with an LT4. So if it is, it's been swapped in, or converted. Look for a red intake and aluminum heads, to start. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | This may help, but only 2 or 3 things you can see without going in. If its knocking, your going in anyway right.

| We need some proof positive of this lt4 flim-flam. I just hope its not an l99... That would suck a little. If it is one, and knocking, you can always swap in an lt1. It's ok tho. I was told yesterday that my 9c1 only came with the impala interceptor motor. SMH. Very convincing argument the guy had, but no. | |

| Like I said I know the history of the car it is a swapped motor, Weather it's really an lt4 is to be determined. I was told years ago that the guy who bought it at the auctions did the swap before even registering it.Legend has it the motor came from a 96 stick vette again I can't prove it but right off the bat it does have aluminum heads. To be continued... | |

| The thing that I saw (besides the red manifold Crovo noted) was the extra material on the intake runners where the manifold hits the heads The LT1 had very little horizontal material at that point LT4 had an extra 1/4" or so flat (extra) material there. Dont know much about it, only what I read. http://www.grandsportregistry.com/lt1vslt4_intakes.htm Seems like most of it is internal Good luck figuring it out Innocent until proven guilty.... _________________ Steve 96BBB 28K 3.42 Bolt-ons 95BBB 100K 3.73 383 New DD...already broke fixt the 4L60E twice 95 Black WB4 Hole...ee...grail 96 Black WB4 No holes in this 95BBB 189K 3.08 Old DD Stolen...by Matt. | Picture me Eating my words. took off home plate,no red intake(maybe swapped at time of engine swap). Then Popped off a valve cover,no roller rockers... So ya it's an lt1. Oh well I was kinda questioning it myself now I know. | |

| So thats an aluminum head anyway Thats probably where the "legend" started. At least it isnt 10208890 baby LT1 Also found out LT4 heads have "LT4" cast into them _________________ Steve 96BBB 28K 3.42 Bolt-ons 95BBB 100K 3.73 383 New DD...already broke fixt the 4L60E twice 95 Black WB4 Hole...ee...grail 96 Black WB4 No holes in this 95BBB 189K 3.08 Old DD Stolen...by Matt. | Probably a Vette engine but F-bodies used the same heads and it's a popular swap for the cast iron heads. I think GM started using those in '96. | |

Overrated. Trust me, when cops see one on a vic, they laugh their asses off. I did. But I bet Jim wouldnt mind trading some parts for that push bar to put on his MSP 9C1. On the other hand, today, ironically, while passing through Seekonk, a detail cop had a dark blue roadmaster with N97's, caps, the roof, hood, and trunk painted like and MSP cruiser just not the doors. It had that same style push bar mounted to the front commonly seen on MSP cruisers back in the 90's. That was the first thing I did to my 9C1 before I moved it from the lot, relocate the push bar to the trunk. | |

| Ha, lol. Very true. I would put one on an old 80's cheyanne or something and make like a "track push truck" out of it, and slam it to the ground. | |
