Found this video of illegal drag racing on Vandalia Avenue in Brooklyn in the 1980s. Mostly motorbikes, but there's a matchup between a 1980 Regal and a '77 LeMans.

I posted that a few weeks ago on Facebook I believe, I wish they still did stuff like that these days, it seemed like everyone was getting along and having a great time with little to no rules.

I hear Lynn Marsh Road out this way was like that in the 60s and 70s, to the point that the state dumped a large mound of dirt in the middle of the rotary where 107 and 60 intersect because of muscle cars flying right through the center of the rotary!

That whole area they did that in was known as a mob graveyard dumping grounds and no longer exists as far as I know (but you can see the outline of the road they were dragging on in a satellite view). They built a mall there and dug up bones when they excavated... Shocked
