| I must be getting old. That is pure sex right there. I would so rock that with some SS wheels. |

| I can always swap my old vinyl portion on top. PM me a picture of the panel so I know we have a match. | |

| Funny, I looked at the pictures several times before I noticed that the car has no hood ornament, not even a hole in the hood. No major collision damage, really?

| Wow, good eye . I wonder what the story behind that is. Maybe ot was in a wreck at one point and they swapped on an SS hood. Who knows, but the ending bid is almost a quarter what I paid for mine. But that price, plus about another $1000, that could have been shipped to my door for cheap! | |

| I had it checked out before the auction ended, and the general conclusion was pretty much: "very tired car, low mileage does not justify buying this".

| I believe there was a hood emblem delete option for the non-SS cars. IIRC, both the 93 and 96 low mile 9c1s that turned up in storage that time in Chestnut Hill or whatever did not have hood emblems from the factory. | |

| That is not correct, as far as I know. I can't remember where I saw this, must have been the "other" forum, but someone raised that same question and the story ended up with someone tracking down the original dealer who sold the mine shaft cars when new. Turned out that they removed the hood ornaments and filled the holes, because the guy had something against ornaments. Same with the boxies from the mine shaft. | |

| Why are people calling them the "mine-shaft" cars all of a sudden? lol IIRC the dealer was Hilltop Chevy in NH?That's really weird that guy went through the trouble of no hood ornaments. Then again, you'd have to be weird to park brand new cars in a dank rust producing environment, and then not touch them for 20+ years. | |

I think because some were stored in container-like, windowless temporary buildings. Pictures of those cars made them look like they were parked in dark, narrow mine shafts? Like this one, only worse. You're right about Hilltop obviously! | |

| I remember when that car was on craigslist in New Hampshire all cleaned up, and the guy was trying to sell the car for 15-16 grand. Right after seeing the ad I found the crownvic.net thread discussing all of these cars, and that picture you posted above with the crap all over the car... | |

For those coming sunday, you will be about 8 or so miles away from Hilltop Chevy. They sell older cars out back. Sometimes even throw them out front. I have spoke with someone there about that 9C1. No one seemed to know much about it. One tech does remember doing a PDI on it, and that he thought a town backed out of the sale, and it was sold to a private person at invoice. Beyond that, he did not know anything. |

LOL I think I saw that car there Tuesday. They had a unsold 2002 35th anniversary convertible Camaro Z28 on the show room floor. I am not sure if they sold it or not. |
