| Step 1: move out of Providence. I live too close for comfort myself. | |

| Someone may have one, but be sure your insurance doesn't cover broken glass before you pay for a new window! | |

| RI is likely different, but in MA if you have comprehensive coverage, you're likely covered for all glass breakage, but take what I say with a grain of salt lol.
If you aren't covered:

| The old dirt under the weatherstripping trick....I HATE THAT Every time I have a window down I run my finger back & forth over the stripping to get rid of dirt. It happens in the top channel too. scratches the 1st 1/2 inch at the top | |

| My side windows are a little like that, and the back window is pretty swirled. I don't know how the hell it happened, apparently the previous owner was using the blade from a cornfield combine to brush snow off of the car? I replaced the windshield already, may try to polish out the rear as I've heard it can be done. I've never had another vehicle where the glass just scratched like that. | |

| Get some Cerium Oxide. It will pull those scratches right out with a little elbow grease and some time. I worked at a glass lens factory and we used it to polish the glass to ridiculous specs. works mint! | |

| I wouldn't see why not, we used to use diamond pads with the really fine glass, but I polished out some nasty scratches on my aquarium a few years ago and it was like they were never there and I used a blue "no scratch" sponge. | |
