| Hey, in your travels thru the junk yards, have any of you ever come across one of these in halfway decent shape. I would really like one to mod onto my Caprice. | |

| I had one of those for years. Threw it away a couple months ago. I have nothing to add to this thread. |

| I'm going to the yard possibly tomorrow. There were like 3-4 boxes last time, I'll take a look. | |

| I did that mod while back with the one from my '85 Caprice.. It doesn't really go with the car. I got a bunch of dumb, "why do you have a boy scout thing on your hood?" questions. If you end up doing it, you'll have to mod the base of it for the 91-96 base to accept it. My .02... | |

| I've been thinking of doing that. I like the look of the SS grille, I also like having a hood ornament, and two bowties on the front would look dumb. Unfortunately, the only box I've come across at the yards (a wagon, no less) was already flattened. | |

| It'll look good as long as there is other chrome on the car. I'm short of that stuff. It will look awesome with an SS grill. Even better on a white B. Post up pics as soon as you do it. I'd give you mine, but the little plastic inserts are missing somehow | |

I'd do the grille in metallic silver or spray chrome. Either that or an Olds grille with an LTZ badge in the center, but that might be too sacrilegious.

The fleur-de-lis or fleur-de-lys (plural: fleurs-de-lis) is a stylized lily (in French, fleur means flower, and lis means lily) or iris that is used as a decorative design or symbol. It may be "at one and the same time, political, dynastic, artistic, emblematic, and symbolic", especially in heraldry.

I actually knew all that. I needed to do research on it before I put it anywhere on my car. I now have a nice subtle fleur-de-lis on my shaved SS trunk lid. Pics to come soon! Symbolic indeed.

| I'll put up pics on the build of it when I do my caddy thread. It took me 2 months to make the out of a raw piece of steel. I used all hand tools, no Cnc or machines, | |
