I've been reading on a couple forums about this over the last few months, sometime in I believe late summer, Compnine went down and there was a message saying it was shutting down for good.. Sad

Yep. They're done. I sensed the end was coming when they limited you to a certain amout of searches per month. Then they put up a paywall, then they were dead. Seems they were hurting for cash I guess. Wonder how much it would take to buy the VIN database and set it up as a donation site...

Looks like GM PARTS East use the same diagrams as Comp Nine. The stars have aligned, again!

It wasn't so much the diagrams being gone that I cared too much about, but the VIN decoder was the best tool ever. If I called anyone about looking at a car on CL all I needed was the VIN to figure out what the hell they were actually selling. Hopefully that kind of tool will come around again someday.

just send me the VIN. As long as its a GM product I can de-code it!
