| I don't know, but I would love to be the buyer. May need some fresh fluids and seals, but well worth 10k over sticker. |

| Like anything else though, it's not worth 3X sticker until someone BUYS it at that price. What was a new 96 ? like 24K so he'd have to sell for 72K? never gonna happen. Want to change this to a lottery thread? Guess the goin rate? We may not get an answer because usually the seller thinks its worth more then it is. I say they meet reserve at $35K (dont think we'll see that bid tho) Deal will happen at $38K Thats my guess. | |

| No offense but I would not own a car that I couldn't take out and thrash once in awhile. | |

Never did. They were added sometime in the past 15 years. |

Never did. They were added sometime in the past 15 years. Yup, makes ya wonder about its originality and why you would make that modification to a n 86 mile car...

If they were added back in 96-99 or so, they would have been original wheels chromed by exchange only. I think in 2000 or so the aftermarket started making knockoffs that were chromed. I think they are a tastfull addition to an otherwise original car. |

- \I am not sure what people paid for them. I just remember seeing one in a dealership once in Riverside California. It was 27k. almost 10k over a stock GN. It was already sold, and had been sitting outback pre PDI. I had to look at it. I laid under the back just to see the torque bar and rear end cover. My girlfriend, and the salesman who was helping us thought I was nuts.
The article said sticker was $29,900, $11k over the "basic" GN. So yeah, it sold for about 3x.

| [b] It takes some serious dicipline to buy a car, put it away for a rainy day sale, especially when someone thinks it will appreciate in value. As some have said, the market will bear its price on this car. If it sells i'd be surprised with the price I'm thinking he wants. Seen some nice ones go thru mecum in the past year or so and they did not pull big $. But, 85 miles is insane. As for those wheels, my guess is they delaminated and he had them stripped and polished.
The discussion of the GN market in corrolation to Impala's from '94-'96 is to be heard I agree, but that being said, no matter what people say, a collector in the car market will always pay more for a two door car. Our Impala's have their niche, but judging from the reception we get at cruise in's , shows etc, its all a matter of taste and they are not too old yet.
I'd want to drive the living hell out of that 85 mile car. You could be dead tommorow.

Speaking from a Buick nut that had a lot of those cars They were priced @ $40k min to "whatever the market will bare". Most guys I know also financed them. Car I bought a few years ago with 2700 miles on it was purchased for $42k . I tried the "How much for the car with CA$$$H.. Cash price didn't make any difference. He was still into the car for $50k after he "paid" for the car. $50k back in 87 was a lot of money !!
