I'm thinking of getting some for myself, but I need a high beam to pass inspection. I'm thinking maybe I could wire up some of these as high beams: http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/116mm-Round-Hi-Power-LED-Lamp-6-x-3W-Hi-Power-LED

| I don't follow this thread at all... Mike said $50 from www.ddmtuning.com and they are awesome and going on 2 years and then Bill says buy them from the same place for $30 and there's no high beam and they molest barn animals. Soooo is this a good company or are they crap ? 6000k is bright white Brian, the higher the K or "Kelvin" which is the temperature of the light spectrum the more blue it becomes, the lower the k the closer it gets to red. So a 3000k light would be yellow and a 12000k light would be violet. You do not need a high beam with a good HID kit, they are bright enough. It's a simple plug in design. You will be allowed to unplug it and put regular bulbs back in to allow the high beams to work for inspection. Then just simply put the hid bulbs back in and reattach the plug in harness and your ready to go. eBay ones are good enough, just try to find a US seller. | |

| You asked what we've had luck with, and two people recommended ddmtuning and you went back to ebay. The $30 ones don't have highs and work awesome. The $50 ones have highs, and the lows work awesome, but the highs are useless. Only good if you need them to pass inspection. For that, I would just swap in regular bulbs for the sticker and swap the HID's back in after. You will never need the high beams with the HID lows. 4500K is the closest to daylight on the color spectrum and I've found them to work best. They are a nice bright white, with no blue tint to them. If there was no 4500K option, I would go with the 5000K. I'd stay away from the ebay ones because no one has shown them to be proven as lasting products. DDM has a lifetime warranty, iirc. hth, ymmv... blah blah blah | |

It can always be switched back for inspection. Im buying two kits so both cars can be tolerable while driving at night in the rain. I figured eBay would have been the cheaper bet.

| I have bought 2 sets of the vvme kits before and have mixed results with them. Both are the 9004/07 4300k dual HID ones. The set in my truck works everytime, but one side seems to have a flicker to it at times. The other set in my 9C1 works good except for one side doesn't always start. Usually have to turn the lights off and back on to get both sides going. Their cheap, so what do you really expect? I have another brand in my Riv (can't remeber who made them, ebay purchase) that works fine, no complaints. | |
