| Sorry, I meant the white one, or the blue one (de-wooded) one? I figured any more stuff goes wrong and you'll be parting out the blue one. | |

| A brass barbed garden hose repair fitting works well there, too. | |

| I just received two new ones from hamilton chevrolet as there are still a few left in the system. Before I realized that though, I used up two salvaged ones (with the green hoses) from my "parts 9C1s" & they BOTH FAILED. It is plastic & connects 5/8" to 3/4" straight through but has a 3/4" "tee" at 90 degrees. They get to this age and they are brittle. I would never trust them on my heater core outlet hose. I made up a new connector-TEE from brass barbed fittings from the "help" section at the auto parts store & got a 1/2" female pipe threaded three way tee (also in brass) from the plumbing supply. If you want a new one, try . . . http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Heater-Hose-T-Fitting-Impala-SS-LT1-Caprice-9C1-Buick-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem563fb3b481QQitemZ370435929217QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_619wt_941 . . . Mike, who handles the ebay dept there, is truly an excellent & knowledgable source, PLUS he owns several 9C1s. The original ones had the bent hose that goes up to the bottom of the expansion tank permanently attached with a tubular aluminum piece swaged over to grip the hose. I simply cut that aluminum piece off carefully & used conventional SS hose clamps to re-attach the 3/4"hose. No more leaks now. { $13.99 BTW for the correct original GM part! } I DO see that your heater INLET hose was the one that failed, but not ANY of my bubble 9C1s had that black plastic "fitting" at its end. On my cars, the heater core inlet hose goes straight onto a pipe on both ends. What is purpose of that devise? I imagine that it may be a "one direction check valve" | |
