| I really find that mind blowing, I deal with gas everyday, old and new, in boats, some engines run fine on old gas, some won't run for crap. I been dumping boat gas into the impalas with some new 91 and they seem to run fine. That's weird, mine aret even on the road both ran yesturday for an hour. I have some used off a 96 caprice, not sure if the are any good. Did u remove them? How do u know it's the injectors? I'm just curious. | |

| honestly i'm not 100% sure its the injectors but it would make sense -- the engine hasn't been run too extensively but after resolving some fuel pump issues (the tanks had bad gas, which burned out the pumps) i noticed the fuel was a reddish brown color to the fuel. i added another inline filter to try and resolve the issue, but it is still getting to the fuel rail yellowish in color.
now the car won't start, even though i'm getting spark -- started up for a second or two with starter fluid in the throttle body. any other idea of what it could be? | |

| yeah, the old gas in the tank had been sitting for about a year -- the engine is in an old jag xj6, with two tanks, and i think i was cycling between the two tanks, sucking up crappy gas through the filter -- i drained the gas, but i think some varnish remained on the side of the tank and when i put new gas it, it was mixed in with the rest of it. my guess is the second fuel filter needs to get replaced next. | |

| There is more to it than the varnish, there is still crappy gas in there. Second filter will help, but still won't fix it untill it's all gone, take the tanks out and inspect them. | |
