| Just got home.
Had an awesome time guys! It was great to see everyone, and I'm psyched the weather cooperated so well all day.
I very much enjoyed watching everyone else work on cars. It appeared that a lot of stuff got done. I just wish I coulda got my car fixed. I did get my hands dirty once though plugging in a vacuum line for Rich (After I broke his PCV hose).
Sorry to Matt for telling him it was ok to put a jackstand somewhere that turned out to not appreciate it.
Big thanks to Crovo for hosting the day. Lunch was excellent and it seemed everyone enjoyed themselves. McKay salad was delicious too.
I took a bunch of pictures on Mark Ross' camera, so hopefully he can post em up for us.
Also a huge thanks Doug (Pooge). He wins the nice guy of the day award. Hooked me up with a cherry gearbox, gave me a ride home, then after dropping me off came back thirty minutes later since I left my toolbox in his truck. Can't thank you enough man; I'da been shoot outa luck without my tools.
Cya'll on Drag Day! | |

| Thank you to The Crovo's for hosting the first mod day of 09.You guys rock! Phyllis and I had a blast, with great company and conversation. I guess great food. I am stuck to a straw diet, so I can only smell the good stuff. Thank you Rich for allowing me to help you fix your car. I had fun, and I hope it idles a bit better with the coil, ICM,and opti harness.. . Fisha is correct. Doug rocks, and so a big thanks to Doug for giving me the door. And Anthony for backing me up during my wicked cool broken door panel mod. I was glad to see everyone. I was very impressed with the turnout. Sorry Marc, Ron and The three Toms could not make it. And very happy that the weather cooperated with us. I had asked for 70 and sunny, but 60 and overcast works too. Jim it was great to talk to you. , Anthony, I am sorry I did not get a chance to help you with your mirrors. Thanks for the well wishes too. We should do another mod day soon. See everyone May 23rd.

| Looks like you guys had a lot of fun, and yes I am geluz!
I will be home soon enough though and I get to look forward to the fun of R&Ring my spun bearing modded 305 for a under 100k mile 305 but at least she will be running again. The work doesn't bother me but doing it in the middle of July in Florida is going to suck but after the heat here it shouldn't be that bad.
Keep up the good work guys, and keep posting pics.

| Hurry home, Ray! I finished up the suspension on the Marshmallow today. I installed that Addco rear bar I had. I actually had to drill some holes in the LCA's to install it! Not sure I like the way it mounts. It's UGLY! I also made some turnbuckles from RC car parts to shorten the sensor rod for the auto-level (air ride). I decided to hold off on the rear shocks for now and see how it was with the stockers as they were still holding air. The real plan is to install those shocks I got and some Airlift Bags utilizing the stock comperssor and lines to keep the auto level. It looks pretty good! I took it for a quick ride and it rides and handles pretty good. Better than I expected, actually. I like it. After a quick 5 mile drive, the front tires are just about level with the wheel opening, I can barely get a finger in, and the rears cover about 2" of the rim. I'll take pics. I know... useless without them... yadda yadda. | |

| The rear air shocks on these cars actually ride pretty decent. The ones in my wagon are low mile AC Delco shocks. Glad you got her buttoned up. Is that rear bar purple too? | |

is there a o ring by the oil filter adapter? Rich There is a o-ring that is prone to leaking. Autozone has a felpro replacement. Off idle stumbles like you described are tough to pinpoint. I had a 9c1 a few years back, and for the life of me I could not find the stumble. I kept throwing parts at it, and for a short time after a part replacement, the stumble would come back. One thing you can do is listen to each exhaust pipe while at idle, and listen for a skip sound in the exhaust note. If you hear something that sounds off, it could at the very least pinpoint a bank of cylinders that is affected. If both sides sound the same, it is probably something common to both banks of cylinders. Is the stumble better now that we through parts at it, and replaced the intake gasket, or is it the same as before? Remember when I told you how to check the egr by pushing on the diaphram while at idle? When you get a chance, try pushing that in to see how the car reacts. It should bog down if it is working corectly. Good luck with it. If we are doing another mod day, I can help a little more. |

is there a o ring by the oil filter adapter? Have you done the Air Pump delete mod? It MAY be your problem. | |

| Being a passenger in it felt like bad wires. Both Fishah and I thought the same thing. Time for a tune up, Rich!!! We'll do it at the next mod day. Get the cheap Z28 wires from Summit or Jegs and some single platinum plugs like Bosch Platinums or Autolites or something. That's about 50 bucks in parts there. A cheap $100 opti off ebay may not be a bad idea. And we can take care of the coolant leak you got there too.... | |

I would check for an arc caused by a broken ceramic insulator of one of the spark plugs, a damaged or loose plug boot, cut in the wire insulation of the plug wires. Just check during the dark to see if you see a slight arc around any of the plugs or wires. Good luck and keep us posted Rich. |

| I wish I could have made it Saturday. I was there in Spirit, I got to spend some quality time with my SS. I got the steering column changed out and got all the interior back together.
If you guys are willing to come to Manchester, I would like to host the next Mod day. I'll be in Chicago this weekend but after that is good. I have room for 2 cars in the garage, possibly 4 in the driveway. I have a jack,6 stands, engine crane, compressor, air tools and a cordless impact, Hydraulic press, Snap On mt2500 scanner, stick welder, possible mig welder, and a box of tools.
What do you think? | |
