| Anyone know if you need the little seals that go in front and back of the drive coupling?
When I pulled the WP off the lt1 while cleaning a very thin round seal seated against the water pump spline. After reading the FSM it looks like there's supposed to be 2 of them, one on each side in between the coupler and WP/drive My gasket set didn't have them nor were they listed on the package. Sooo I installed NONE, Anyone doing opti's come across this? Any issues?

| The Felpro timing cover kit usually comes with them (2 I think). There is suppose to be one on the pump and one on the drive shaft. I've installed the pump without them, never had an issue. | |

| That's what I bought, felpro. You are talking about 2 paper circle gaskets right? My kit came with:
1 front crank seal 1 opti drive seal 1 dreaded water pump drive seal 1 paper timing cover seal 2 water pump to block seals 2 rubber o-rings for the opti

I was talking about the O-rings. They work for either the pump or the opti, but I feel their more useful on the opti if those are all you have. | |

| I don't recall getting any paper circle shaped gaskets with my last kit, can't think of what they would be used for. | |
