| I recently started driving the impala again. had no license for 2 months so the car sat. now that iam driving it, once and awhile when I go to start it it will just crank over and not start, if I put the petal to the floor and hold it then it will start.. and it cut out on me the other day driving down the road. had to put it N and rev it up to get it to stay running.. not sure if my coil could be shiting the bed or what.. | |

| Could be a bad coil, or the grounds at the coil. Or an opti. Or fuel pump... Could be a lot of things. | |

| Check the grounds at the coil. They tend to break there and you can't see it unless you separate them and really look for it. | |

| Did you do anything (check, clean or adjust) to the TB or IAC?

| Idle air control Bottom of the TB I'll see if I can find the link on resetting it If I remeber correctly people make a big deal of saying NOT to touch it Then...I saw the procedure & it seemed to say it resets itself... IDK...I have info somewhere (also the manual if need be) | |

| They say don't push the pintle back in with your thumb because it can cause damage. But I have done it numerous times with no issue. If you gently rock it back and forth while pushing in it should go all the way in and reset itself. if it doesn't move at all it's junk! | |

| That sounds right....then after the motor runs it adjusts the # of steps it needs to idle & not surge | |

| If you didnt mess with it or spray down into it I doubt thats an issue. Just make sure you didnt bend any pins or yank any wires when you pulled them to do the intake This is where a scan can keep the headaches to a minimum

| Ya, when those tubes get old, they get hard & dont seal very well
I put a clamp on them (never to be seen again once buttoned up)

| Did you clean the o2's? Sometimes the PCM reads a certain air/fuel for so long because of dirty intake/tb that when you clean it the o2's are too clogged to read how clean the air/fuel mix really is.
Also make sure you check those fuel injector connections and wires, I've had loose and broken wires there before, and it caused surging and stalling like that,
