| Ok, so... aside from 9C1s, Impala SSs, and 94-96 Wagons... what other Caprices had LT1s?
I occasionally see a sedan listed as having an LT1, but it's neither a 9C1 or a wagon... or an Impala...

| the LT1 was optional in the sedan on all trims. And someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all tow pack sedans also got the LT1. | |

| Ok, so no specific model like the LS or LT. | |

Not that I know of, maybe the LT since it was the more "premium" of the trims. But I still think the 5.7 was optional in all models except tow packs.

Correct. L99 was the standard motor in ALL sedans except the SS. Even the 9C1 got the L99 standard. Wagons only got the LT1, no L99.

Correct. L99 was the standard motor in ALL sedans except the SS. Even the 9C1 got the L99 standard. Wagons only got the LT1, no L99. Except for the whole 2 Caprice wagons that got outfitted with them.

| The only way to get LT1 in a sedan was to have the tow package, I think. | |

| Caprice sedans with lt1's (at least all the ones I've owned) were b4u packages, and the lt1 came with a mechanical fan setup. So maybe it's just the tow packages. | |

| In 1994 the Caprice received the new-generation GM engines, including an optional detuned version of the Corvette's LT1 350 cu in (5.7 L) engine that put out 260 hp (194 kW) and 330 ft·lbf (447 N·m) of torque. The standard engine in all sedans, including the 9C1 police cars, was the 200 hp (150 kW), L99 263 (4.3 L) V8. The LT1 was optional in the 9C1 police-package and standard in the wagon. The LT1 350 was standard in the civilian sedans, with the addition of the B4U towing package. The towing package also gave a heavy duty suspension nearly identical to the 9C1 police car suspension. 2.93 gears, heavy duty cooling, heavy duty rear drum brakes and positraction were standard with the towing package. The 265 (4.3 L) L99, and 350 (5.7 L) LT1 look nearly identical externally. Many 4.3 L99 equipped sedans are passed off as 5.7 LT1 cars. The 8th digit in the VIN number is the Engine code. W: 4.3 L L99, P: 5.7 L LT1. The 1994 Caprice's interior had a redesign which featured a Camaro steering wheel, digital speedometer and a new console. got the answer off google in 30 secs...... | |

| LT1's were availible in 1994-1996 caprice's and roadmasters. You could also get an LT1 in corvettes starting in 1992 and f-bodies in 1993. | |

| I think you guys are right. Wagon, WX3, B4U, 9C1
I think the L99 was a Chevy-only engine. Not in Roadmasters or Fleetwoods.

Steve Correct. However I still don't know if non tow pack cars could get the LT1. The quote bowtiepimp posted (which is what is listed on Wikipedia) just said that tow pack cars got the LT1 standard, but did not elaborate if other trim packages could as well as an option.

Im sure if the vehicle was special ordered or certain "fleet vehicles " could have an LT1 as option...... the right amount of money will get ya what you want
