I think (Navylifter) on ISSF can get the number for you. I would like to know my number as well. |

| I thought it was just the last 6 of the vin. I'm pretty sure it's not a random number. | |

Yes the numbers are in sequence. But impalas and caprices shared the same number sequence. 000001 could be an impala, while 000002 could be a caprice, and so on. Finding where an impala stands within it's own sequence is the challenge. 000001 is impala #1, but 000034 could be the next impala which would make it impala#2 and so on. |

| 1) Start at the first vin and end at the last vin produced that year. 2) Figure out what your vin is to see what part of the production run yours was from. 3) Then figure out the number of Imp's produced that year. 4) Assume that they were spread out in a fairly uniform way. 5) You'll find that a vin in the middle of the run probably correlates to the Imp made halfway through all the Imps made that year. 6) Then you can move onto more important things in life, like anything that doesn't involve figuring out who's car was made first | |

| I did read a while back that a Grey/Silver Impala was special ordered, not sure what year. It was destroyed in a hail storm. Has anyone else ever read that? | |
