so last nite while trying to remove my egr tube I broke the head off the lower bolt going into the exhaust manifold.. No
I left the upper nuts tight which seems to be holding the tube in place (so far). My plan is to remove the erg tube all together.
I REALLY don't want to try and remove the exhaust manifold to tap out the broken bolt. My thought is to make a steel (not the aluminum one I have from ebay) block-off plate to have welded to the manifold. Has anyone had this issue and/or have any suggestions?

Yup, this happened to me on both the sedans, removing the mainfolds to fix the broken bolts in the heads.

Repaired it the same way I did the brken bolts in the heads, Mig welder.

Hold a nut with vise-grips over the broken bolt, and weld the bolt to the nut.

Took a few tries, but I got em. If they are really stubborn, weld first, then heat the are with a torch. cheers

X2. I have done the same thing twice, and drilled and tapped once. Weld works better.
