PostSubject: Off the line stumble   Off the line stumble EmptyTue Mar 24, 2009 5:55 pm

Hey whats UP.

In my Caprice if I leave a red light stop sign whatever, with any amount of throttle more than old lady acceleration i get this horrible stumble. Now, if I get off the line then push the pedal down more it is perfect. It only does this starting from 0 and using heavy throttle. Looking for some ideas on which way to deal with it.

Possible EGR. But that usually happens with light acceleration.

Maybe TB needs a good cleaning?

Bad wires? Coil wire?

Went from doing it off the line to doing it constantly. When the car is cold it runs fine. After about 10 minutes of driving it is falling on its face.

It's the L99. I think it's time for the LT1. Wink

My thoughts exactly. Just need some helping hands and a picker.

That l99 still makes good power, put some duals and shit on it, and run the he!! out of it. In the meantime build a good LT1 to run.

Mine did the same thing, coil was crap, when the car got hot, for some reason it acted up. Try that first. If you were closer i'd say bring it over, i got tons of parts to try.

I already put 2.5" pipes and dumped turbo mufflers as well as a sewerpipe and homeplate delete and has factory 3.23 posi. It is nothing compared to neck whipping power in my wagon with stock intake, muffler delete and 2.93 gears. I have an LT1 in my wrecked wagon that I want to rip out and put into my caprice. A. S. A.
