Wishing all former and current Marines a very happy and safe birthday (November 10, 1775)! On this very day we still have our Marines serving in hostile situations, God look over them. Sergeant Major Dan Daley (received two Medal of Honors during his tour of duty) was leading the 5th Marines near Lucy-le-Bocage on his attack of Belleau Woods on June 6, 1918 when they were pinned down by German fire. Sergeant Major Dayley rallied his Marines when he shouted, "Come on you sons of bitches, do you want to live forever"! Again the Marine rose to the situation. As I reflect back on my years as a Marine I am proud to say I served under seven of the thirty four Marine Corps Commandants; Generals, Chapman, Cushman, Wilson (WWII Medal of Honor), Barrow, PX Kelley, Gray and Munday.
Semper Fidelis!
