My 85 Olds has 35% tint, shop says its reading 31% on the meter. They won't pass it as is. I dunno what the issue is as the last 3 years the car has passed fine.
Anyone know a MA shop that won't jerk me on the little things like...being 4% over the tint limit?

thank you!

Hey Dan, what's up? You found us! You still have that old 9c1?

I can't help you with a sticker in Ma though. Took me about 14 months to get my Impala legal when I moved there! Evil or Very Mad

I know a guy that's pretty easy going but he's quite a ways south of you Neutral

I could also direct you to a guy who will fail a brand new car if his garage is empty and he needs some "repair" work Twisted Evil

I was able to find a shop in Lowell today. They said it passed on thier gun anyway. Other shops who checked it said their gun was reading anywhere between 27% and the 35% limit. Shows just how out of whack the testing tools in this state are.

And yes Mr. Crovo I was pointed in the direction of this forum. I still have the 9C1 but it is going buh-bye very soon. After 4 different shops had it no one could fix it. Expect to see some parts for sale soon.

Glad you got it inspected! Smile

And... What's wrong with the 9c1?

Random stalling. Would run rough, then good...randomly. Would drive for 3 days fine then suddenly die. Sometimes would run fine again after 30 minutes.

Replaced plugs, wires, coil, opti, swapped PCM once.... nothing worked.
It has been sitting for months.

How's the fuel pressure when it's not running? Or could the shops not duplicate it? Sounds like a bad fuel pump to me. That's what it did in Morticia when it went. If it's not running now, switch the key to "run" and listen for the fuel pump. It only primes for a few seconds, so you may want to have someone near the tank listening.
