| The Impforum is useless lately so I'll try asking here.
What would make a 4l60e shift fine through every gear but not downshift for passing on the highway? It's like the thing is sticking in 4th. Flooring the pedal just makes the rpm's pick up without any downshift, which makes for a complete lack of forward progress. | |

I can tell you it is not good, and when I had this issue, I needed a rebuild. It could be a bad shift solenoid. But if it was you would get a check engine light Is it random? Or does it happen all the time? |

| It's constant. Sometimes when you let off the gas it will instantly downshift but it goes right back to 4th when you hit the gas again. It's the reason why I took the car up to your place instead of the truck like I planned. Not good to have a 6 cyl 4x4 that doesn't downshift when driving on I95. | |

| Sounds like it's time to start saving for a tranny. Call Shane @ CPT! | |

| This might be far fetched-- But try checking the TPS, I know you can fry a tranny with a bad TPS. ---Worth a shot. | |
