| How's it going. I was fairly active on the Inegma boards for a while but weaned off lately. My ride is a '96 Impala SS, a lot of miles, about 189k. No major mods, sewer pipe intake, de-screened maf is about it. I'm buying a cat-back, tires, white-face guages and an engine to rebuild (help locating one would be awesome!!) with my tax-return (it's a biggie). I'm worried about her tranny and she has some rust on her floorbards and the bottom of the b-pillars. Wow, now that I say it out loud she needs some TLC! the BEST picture of my Imp | |

Here you go. And I have done enough trannys. I will donate my time which should be about two to thee hours. http://www.impalassforum.com/vBulletin/showthread.php?t=216994 I have never heard of one failing, but Shane offers a good warranty. Under $1300 for a tranny rebuilt to better than new, with converter, shipping and warranty all included in the price. Hell, Aamco gets $2200, and it takes them about an hour to remove, and an hour to reinstall, and no higher stall converter. So you would be paying 2k just for their rebuilt transmission, with no upgrades, and stock rebuilt converter |

| Thanks for that heads up. It's really hard to find inexpensive 4L60Es for less than two grand. I'm not gonna worry too much about the tranny 'til I do the engine, which should hopefully be next summer/fall. It should easily last another summer. (That wedding is creeping up and it's not paid for yet)
Thanks for the offer on the rims, but if I go with another set of 17's on her I was some Wheel Vintiques SS 17" billets. Have the style of the late 60's early 70's SS/Ralley wheels....SSOO nice. I'm looking more into 18 or 19's. | |
