Hey Guys,
So I finally had some time to work on the Marshmallow today!!! And also notice that she's IN THE GARAGE! Wooo Hoooo!!!!! I was able to tackle a few of the things I've been wanting to do for months now. Knocked them ALL out today!
I prepped and painted those cool aluminum fool rail covers that I had on Morticia and made them a little more "finished looking." Painted basic Krylon Fusion White because the only Rustoleum I had was Satin Black.
I recycled a few emblems that I'd been collecting since I heard I might take ownership of this car. Here they are painted and 3M Emblem Adhesive'd.
And a couple shots of them installed.
Yes, I know I shouldn't have reused the ugly stock hardware. The stainless allen bolts I had weren't long enough. So that part is TBC!
Now onto the tupperware bins. I wanted to make a po'mans Cold Air Intake. Don't get cheaper than $3.50 for a Sterlite (?) container! So I present to you, my Slightly Less Hot Air Intake! Part one, stock vs uh... stock.
Yeah, that looks better...
Just a little off the top...
Holey!
Rattle Rattle Rattle... psssssssshhhht...
Installed!
I had the old S&B Filter from my Impala and then used some 1/2" pipe insulation that I had around to finish it off.
Hmmm... What next? Howabout headlight covers? Now this one was expensive. I bought the GOOD Sterlite 28qt one! It costed my FOUR bucks!
Ha! Ok, grab some cardboard and go to town. Template!
Transferred! (make sure you flip the template and make the 2nd cover a mirror image or you'll be making another trip to Walmart like
this guy  )
Cutted out and fitted on! Also marked where I was gonna drill the holes to mount it. Now you see why the CLEAR ones are key! I used that trick on the SLHAI too, for the popper thingies on the bottom)
Rattle, yadda...
Installed!
What about close-ups? Ok. Since you asked...
Not bad for 4 bucks! I may trim them out a little better with some door edge trim when I install the new headlights this week.
What else did I do? Oh yeah! More Gran Sportification! Recycled badges!!!! Yar!
And a couple more than I'm not sure I like yet. Not even sure if I'd be all that into them if they weren't crooked, either...
So that was my mini cheapskate mod day today. It was a good day. Hope I can get a few more things accomplished before the Fest!
