Rear end question Empty
PostSubject: Rear end question   Rear end question EmptyMon Feb 01, 2016 6:59 pm

So I have a distinct noise coming from the rear end. I am not sure if it is from failing carrier bearings, or axle bearings. Is there a difference in noise/symptoms I should be listening for? I may be looking for a new rearend if it is carrier bearings as I am not wasting money on 2.56 gears. I will drop 4.11s in it.

Could pull the axles and check the bearing surfaces for wear, and spin the bearings around to see if they are in rough shape. Spin the carrier by hand to see if thats noisy.
