 Trans temp gauge

I searched around Google for a but and just found dead or missing links.

I'd like to install a trans temp gauge on the '96. I read you can use a test port on the 4L60E (as the easiest route) instead of getting the oil pan down and drilling it for a more accurate reading.

Has anyone here done this or something similar?
