Looking for a beater Empty
PostSubject: Looking for a beater    Looking for a beater EmptyTue Jun 16, 2015 6:10 pm

Not really looking to get back into the game here but......

currently looking for a second car because my F'n s10 keeps needing repairs leaving me without a vehicle.
My plan is to pull the body from the s10 and mount a 47-53 Chevy truck on it and use it as a daily driver summer/winter etc
While I'm working on it and getting everything going I need a reliable vehicle so the wife doesn't kill me for taking her car.

Looking for a fleetwood 93-96 preferably but would consider another B body I guess as well. Lt1 or l99 cars only.
Looking for $1000 or under. Needs to run NOW or maybe with extremely easy fixes. No projects. Looks are not important,

Anyone spots anything let me know!

Thanks in advance!!

General Auto Salvage in Claremont, NH has the owners old Fleetwood for sale, not sure on the year, I want to say 94. They were asking $1200 a couple months back, willing to bet it could be had for under $1000. Decent looking but rust starting in the obvious places, didn't get to look under it or under the hood, but might be worth checking out.

I thought about it, but with my driveway any beater would have to be AWD or 4WD in the winter.... Ill probably end up with a shitty old outback as a backup car.

Little too long of a drive for me just to take a look.
If it's a 93 I'm definitely not interested. If it's a black caddy though the trip may just become worth it to me.

Just looked at a bare top dark blue fleetwood today. Too much money and judging by the steering wheel and small mirrors believe it was actually a 93.

Still looking.

Only things down here are overpriced L99 or TBI cars with toasted lower quarters and CEL.

95 Fleetwood--looks decent--low mileage--priced fair.

Saw that one. It's definitely in my maybe list. He's dropped the price a few times. Just biding my time to see if he gets desperate.

I'm trying to get up there before Thursday, assuming my schedule works, for a part anyway. I will see if I can get a better look and more info.
