So, figured I'd share this with you guys. A close friend of mine passed away in a motorcycle accident this Friday. I've known him since high school and he was a good guy, he leaves behind a wife and 3 young children. He was hit by a car while on his way to work and his helmet clasp failed. If you follow the local news you may have seen the story.

This is also sortof a forsale post. I'm selling my 76 Honda CB550Four and giving her the money. She could use the money more than I need a bike. It's a fixer upper that needs some wiring and a carb cleaning to run. CJ was going to help me with it, but we never had time to get together and wrench on it. One of my biggest regrets now that he's gone. I'm hoping to get 500 to give her and throw in some cash on top of that. She also has a gofundme page going if you guys want to help out but don't want a bike.

Thanks gang. This has been really hard on Jessie and I these past couple days. CJ was a good friend.

Thanks Tom, it's a sad fact that most people don't realize the power they wield when behind the wheel, and how easy it is end someones life.

Eric,

Sorry to hear about friend. Nice of you to sell your motorcycle for his family. I'm sure his wife and 3 kids are going to need help.

Sorry to hear it. Just last weekend a Marine friend of mine from my old unit in CA was in a serious motorcycle accident. He's in a coma at Bay State medical. It's his second serious accident on a bike. 1st time was when we were stationed in California after our first Iraq deployment. He was medically retired due to his injuries. 8 years later, here we are. 2 hour drive for me to visit him but I'm headed there Wednesday.

Damn Eric... Sorry to hear it. That's really sad.

And as much as I want a bike, this is the reason I don't have one. As mentioned, with driving being the secondary function (if you're lucky to see it that high) to most drivers, I just can't do it.

So sorry for them. That's horrible.

Thanks guys. I sold the bike tonight so now I have the $500 to give to her. It's a drop in the bucket but every little bit counts.

CJ's obituary was posted today. This is still just so unbelievable to me.

Sorry to hear Eric, I too lost one of my best friends in a bike accident. Never had much interest in them before, have even less now.
