It just clicks once and the "check gauge" light comes on. I had trouble with it a couple years back, cleaned it , replaced a wire and its been good until now.

It's on it's way out replace it now. I got mine at Advanced auto. Told them it was for a 95 Corvette. They gave me a rebuilt vet starter. Smaller, and lighter than a B-body starter, and it sounds really cool too.

Would this Corvette starter work on a TBI engine? My starter is getting worse, sounds like a grinder rather than a starter sometimes.

Good question. I think it should. I am not sure if there is a differnce in flex plate diameter between the TBI and LT1. They should be the same. If they have the same amount of teeth, I woud say yes.

Well, Rockauto says a flexplate for a 1992 OCC also fits a 91-96 Roadmaster. Hooray time to raid Jessie's change jar.

I once put a '91 TBI starter on a LT1 when I couldn't' find the change jar.

You might have to stretch the battery cable a bit. On the LT1s just loosen the cable clamp on the frame rail is usually enough.

Be sure to leave enough money for the "LS1" Camaro project. Very Happy

OMG, I should have put a Corvette starter in it years ago Surprised it starts up so much better now. And while I was under there I put a thermal insulation sleeve on the starter wire cause it runs so close to the headers, hopefully eliminating a future issue. I'm learnin
