PostSubject: 96 Fleetwood revival and 95 FW stripping   Sat Oct 11, 2014 8:43 pm

So about 5 months ago I'd say, my Fleetwood puked brake fluid from one of the main body lines going to the rear. My wagon had been sitting for months at that point so I put it back to daily driver status and stuck the FW in my backyard. Fast forward, my brother in law crashed his beautiful 95 Fleetwood and wrecked the whole front end. I bought it from him for a junkyard price. I will use the entire, excellent condition blue interior from the parts car in my 96 Fleetwood. It currently has the cream colored interior and after 207k miles it is showing its age. The seats mostly, they are ripped and cracked. Only problem is, both air bags went off in the 95 fw so I will need to dye my drivers bag and cracked tan dash until I can find a real nice blue dash pad. (Hens teeth). The dash pad in the 95 disintegrated when the passenger airbag went off. I will also cut out patch panels from this 95 to repair some areas with rust on my 96.

White stuff on the seat is from the airbag I think and hope it will clean off.

Today I drove the 96 (white) FW to work and left it there so I can use the lift to take a good look at what I need from the donor car. I plan to use the original brake lines to repair the rusted ones. The donor is from GA and its sickening how clean it is underneath.

This pic is a few years old but shows the wear on the drivers seat from the interior I will be replacing. I'm not too fond of the light colored interior anyways.

When all the work is done it will be my wife's daily driver. I'll post more updates when I get some more stuff done.

Brake line has been replaced. New rear shoes, hardware, cylinders and drums. One bleeder wouldn't open so I said to hell with it and replaced it ALL. This weekend I am going to notch the frame on the '96 for tie rod clearance. I only have about an inch or 2 of suspension travel before it hits the frame. Thats the down side to living the low life! Everyone says to bag it. But, I love when people ask me, is that thing on bags?? I say no and they look at me like I'm crazy. Maybe I am?
