| Where do you buy gas? What grade are you running?
Pass few times after buying shell gas, i have notice sluggish performace. I know it verys depending on who is delivering the fuel.
What do you recommend? Big gas? Independent? Additives?

| I will use Shell, Mobil, or Sunoco. I don't use anything else. Never have, never will. I prefer Shell for it's 87 octane, but I like Sunoco for it's 94. | |

| Techron actually improved my mileage. Srsly. 270+ on a tank over the usual 200-240 miles. | |

| It's been hit or miss for me so many times, that I mostly get Cumbahlind Fahms. I also get the cheapest gas unless the station seems ghetto or has old tanks that likely have rust in them. I've been going to AL Prime in Wakefield since that's cheap and a brand new station. I see the same trucks delivering from the tank farm in Revere/East Boston/Chelsea to stations for Shell, Mobil and Hess, and I know I've gotten bad gas in the past from "nice" gas stations. I got some last fall in my Tahoe and for about 2 weeks it would sputter on the highway, it was freaking me out then it cleared up. I wish I could remember that one but it wasn't Hess or Gulf or whatever.
Recently in the yellow Impala, I got a tank of bad fuel somewhere too, and I think that was a nice station. That car takes high-test only also. It hesitated from 50-70. It has mostly cleared up, but it did piss me off. I think that was from Shell.
Being that the car takes 91 octane or higher (so I have to get 93), it is a tell tale to what gas is crap. If it pings, I know something was up with the gas I just got not being the octane listed. When I was just working on that movie, I stood around talking to a lot of older car guys and such, and a couple said they usually get 89 because it's generally the most accurate octance compared to what's shown on the pump in terms of what's delivered, etc.
The worst I ever got was from the Gulf on Route 1 next to the Golden Banana about 10 years ago. I was in my Suburban, I got gas there, started it, ran like crap, then stalled and rolled out into the traffic on the highway. I coasted into the next parking lot and eventually got it running again...

| Cumberland Fahms is Gulf gas, ked.
I either go to Cumbies or Sunoco. I've never had a problem. Both for 87 and 93. I avoid the discount places. Did it once for the wagon, week later the fuel pump shit out. Never again.

| I know it's Gulf, but I like to say "Yah uh I went up tah thah Cumbalind Fahms in Wilmington kehd, an' I goaht one uh dose Slurpeez they have wheah you can get like a free pack ah Twizzlahs wit 'em guy"
What denotes discount anyway, like the no-name stations? I was super pissed when I got the bad Shell gas because I paid a ton of money for the crap, and then I found a Shell like 2 miles away that was 10 cents cheaper for the premium.
As an experiment I put 89 in the yellow Impala last time I filled it up, it still ran fine, but I did notice some slight ping on a hill under load. I don't get why it needs "91 or higher"...maybe they used to have that octane rating back in the day.
