I hated the bcs system of giving championships to the school with the most money. Then "lesser" schools started spending millions on stadiums and millions more on coaches just to get a piece of the bowl money. Right now the college I went to is spending $5 million on renovations to the football field while they have buildings with cracked foundations, and admin building has a wall cracked so badly you can actually see in through it, and railings are ripping out of a 3 story staircase in another building, which houses the offices of all the elderly teachers.
At the same time the ncaa says kids can't get paid to play, but ignores all the scholarships givin to kids to play, and also ignores the fact that the school, conference, and ncaa makes millions off of these kids. Play any ncaa video game and watch as QB1 drops back and throws to WR1, but the stadiums, coaches, and sponsors are all clearly named. Top it off they say that having a playoff system is unfair to the kids because it would take them from their classes, but the regular season already does it, and the bowl games are even worse. I've seen teams travel to a tournament on a Thursday afternoon and not return until Monday night. It's ok though because it's a school event and they just need to have someone get them caught up on the asignment when they return. It's a great system when you have a group presentation on Monday and half of your group is in a different part of the country.
Then I read this article and said it's deffinetly time to put college football in the same sphere of existence as scientology and the energizer bunny. It makes for funny stories but it's not worth spending money or time on.
